World Autism Awareness Day

The seventh annual World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2014. Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events.

World Autism Awareness Day has been held every year since 9 September 1989. It was designated by the United NationsGeneral Assembly resolution "62/139. World Autism Awareness Day," adopted on 18 December 2007, proposed by Qatar, and supported by all member states. The resolution had four main components:

• the establishment of 2 April as WAAD
• participation of UN organizations, member states, NGOs and all private & public organizations in WAAD
• raise awareness of autism on all levels in society
• to ask the UN Secretary-General to deliver this message to member states and all other UN organs.

My Challenge as Iman's Caregiver

My day to day  life is full of challenges, coping with my son's behavior. I got to be more patient beside gaining some some new knowledge in Autism World. My son insisted to go to school even at night. When I said the school is closed, he threw his tantrums again and again. Making myself so exhausted. Now I see the need to open an AUTISM CENTRE in Dungun.

A PLAN TO SET UP AN AUTISM CENTRE IN DUNGUN

Alhamdulillah, my application to go back to Dungun had already approved by UiTM. Thanks to my boss for his approval and support. I'm already here since August 1st, 2013. I came back to Dungun with a hope that I'll managed to set up an Autism Centre here in Dungun. What had happened to Tajul Iman (when he was terminated from school) became a triggering factor for me to proceed with the effort in setting up our own Autism Center. In this post I update from time to time the information on d progress in setting up the Center. I faced some difficulties to form this centre, but I will never give up.

1. My first attempt is to get the parents to sit together for us to form a "Parents Assocciation.  After the association had been formed,  The 2nd step is to open a n                 So to those out there who really want to coorperate with me, you can call me ASAP as I got to work out about this Centre. IMAN'S STRUGGLE FOR EDUCATION

It has been sixth month since my son was terminated from Maia UKM. Everyday until now, my son keeps on saying "Maia" "Maia", "UKM" "UKM". I cried in tears every time he insisted to go back to his previous education centre. Since he was terminated in July 2012, I'd been seeking for some other alternatives, at least a better option. I managed to send him to a Government School, Sek Keb Jalan 6, Bandar Baru Bangi, but it's just operating for half day. I couldn't find a taxi driver who is willing to send him back  from school everyday.

As a result, I got to be in Bangi until 12 pm, sending him back to my house, then drive my car to UiTM Shah Alam. I feel so guilty to my organization. I got to stay in my office until 9 pm everyday, for me to fulfill my working hours, as I was required to have a 39 hours per week as a lecturer at UiTM. At last, I got a "memo" for not being able to meet my organizational requirement. I'd been thinking to quit my job, but I don't think I can make it with a single income.God please HELP ME. Please give me some strength FOR MY SON....
